Where are your programs located?
We offer workshops all over the place! Tuition-based workshops happen at 2707 West Cary Street, Studio Two Three, the VMFA, and Byrd Park. We also offer free public workshops via several library systems. Partner programs take place at the Chesterfield Juvenile Detention Center and at local schools via the NextUp program. The location for each workshop will be listed clearly on the schedule and in the reminder email prior to the start date.'
Do you take donations?
We do! Gifts are not tax deductible, but that doesn’t seem to stop our amazing community from making sure that all kids can attend our programs. We gratefully accept gifts in any amount to offset costs for families facing financial barriers, and our add-on donation options (ie. provide a partial scholarship for a young writers for $25, give a class notebooks n’ pencils for $10) is available at registration.
Do you offer scholarships?
Absolutely! Self-assessed tuition assistance has been available at a sliding scale on our registration form for years, and that will continue. We also offer free programs to meet needs not served by our tuition assistance levels.
How can I sponsor a student for your tuition-based programs?
You can make a donation via our community giving page! Gifts are not tax deductible, but we can still receive them in any amount. Small gifts from the many generous folks in our network have made hundreds of full and partial scholarships possible throughout our years as an LLC.
