COLLEGE ESSAY MENTORING
RYW Director Bird Cox offers one-to-one or small-group college essay mentoring for high school students.
Bird helps students identify a meaningful vision for their essay that will differentiate them from other applicants. Her mentoring approach is designed to put young people at ease as writers, to help them communicate with confidence and a sense of personal style, and to develop a deeper understanding of their unique voice. She also addresses research strategies, revision techniques, and how to break down writer’s block.
Initial consultations include a phone call with the applicant regarding their application and a 90-minute assessment of a partial or full first essay draft for $100, with additional hour-long sessions as needed for $50 each.
If you’d like to discuss scheduling, email her at richmondyoungwriters[at]gmail.com.
